The engraving has slipped very slightly in the mount. There is some craquelure and some small patches of flaking to the verre eglomise. There are some scuffs and scratches to the frame.

Robert Samuel Marcuard (1758-c.1788) was a stipple engraver. He was a pupil of Bartolozzi, probably from 1773 to 1780. He then worked for other publishers in the 1780s. He was dead by February 1788 when his collection of drawings was sold.
