Artist Biography

Artist and printmaker born in Haywards Heath, Sussex and studied at Eastbourne School of Art and Maidstone College of Art, graduating in 1971 with diplomas in art design in graphics. He works mainly in watercolour, oils and drypoint the latter are often printed in black and white and then hand coloured with watercolours. His subjects are mainly wildlife, domestic animals and landscape. Robert Greenhalf was elected a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists in 1981 and a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1982. Greenhalf is also a member of a group known as the Artists for Nature Foundation which is a charity formed in 1991 to focus attention on threatened areas of the world. With them, he visited Poland in 1992, Spain in 1994, Wexford, Ireland in 1995 and Utrecht, Holland in 2005. These visits resulted in a book, details of which are below. His work has been hung on several occasions at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions and examples are held in the Metropole Art Collection.
