A superb late 19th/early 20th century Orientalist watercolour by the acclaimed watercolourist Robert Murdoch-Wright. This an excellent example of Murdoch-Wright's oeuvre, which cantered on such scenes of Egyptian life and the stunning desert landscape. In this particular composition the artist focuses on the people of Cairo, going about their lives on the outskirts of the city. The artist's masterful handling of watercolours is evident in the subtle washes used to build a dusk sky of purple and blue hues. The painting is signed and titled to the lower right, and further inscribed to an old label on the reverse 'Murdoch-Wright / Binsey Oxford'. Beautifully presented in a modern gilt frame. On wove.

Overall the appearance is very good. Very light foxing to the sky. The frame has light wear but overall the condition is good.
