Signed and dated in the lower left corner. Well presented in a cream card mount and solid wood frame with gilt details.

Painter of genre scenes and portraits primarily in watercolour who was born and raised in London the son of artist Henry McNamara Evans who was born in Cork, Ireland (1832-1895). Frederick began his working life as a bookbinder simultaneously attending the Royal Academy Schools. He showed at the Goupil Gallery, Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, Newlyn Society of Artists and Dowdeswells. In 1892 he exhibited at the opening exhibition of the Newlyn Art Gallery. Examples of his work are in the collections of Penlee House Museum and Maidstone Museum & Bentlif Art Gallery.
