Reverend Samuel Smith - Original 1847 Watercolour. Painted using a mixed watercolour technique, possibly using some pastel. A page from a Victorian sketchbook album. On wove paper fixed at the corners to backing paper. Inscription to lower- "Fine Head by Miss Kate D' Arcy 1847, Brighton". Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration in the corners where adhesive has seeped through. There is some tearing to the lower edge of the backing paper.
