Description

A delicate depiction of a bright street scene with flowers, painted in oil by 20th Century artist Renee Young. The expressive nature of the brushstrokes and floral hues adds life and movement to the picture. The picture contains some visible masking tape to the right hand side which can easily be removed. Signed to the lower right hand corner, as shown. Signed. On board.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Minor scuffed edges, particularly on the bottom edge. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.

Collection Information

From an extensive collection of works by the artist. While most are signed, all are from her studio. Her subjects include portraits, figure studies and landscapes and are executed in a range of mediums, including oil, watercolour, pastel, pencil and charcoal. We also acquired a cache of her personal items, including some photographs and even her chest x-ray (not for sale).
