In a manner evocative of the drawings of Augustus Pugin (1812-1852), this extremely fine group of late 19th Century pen and ink drawings includes gothic manorial interiors, as well as garden and church views. Undoubtedly by a serious artist, this unknown hand displays a remarkable attention to detail and form, mastering the grisaille technique, with figures dressed in the style of the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods.
