Description

A fine early 20th Century oil scene showing a young woman in an apron and white linen cap standing in the well kept gardens of an impressive almshouse. The elderly patrons of the building sit on a bench by a monument in the garden and doves flock on the grass. The artist has signed to the lower left corner and the painting has been presented in an impressive 20th Century gilt frame with low relief acanthus leaf molding and lamb's tongue strap work. The canvas has been fully relined. On canvas.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and darkening due to the relining process. There is some craquelure to the surface. There is a small area of loss to the paint at the lower left quadrant. The frame is in fine condition.
