A thoroughly charming 20th Century Folk art scene in oil, showing a handsome heifer with its proud owner. The naive style, mirroring that of original 19th Century Folk art paintings of similar subjects, adds much fun and character to the piece. The painting, whilst unsigned, was acquired by Sulis Fine Art in a portfolio of other works by the same hand, all of which were signed R. A. Jones. The painting is presented in a 20th Century wood and gilt frame with a white slip. On canvas board.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The frame has some light scuffing.
