This atmospheric painting captures a bridge arching over a serene river, framed by overhanging tree branches. To the foreground a figure stands with a fishing rod in hand, waiting for any sign of a bite. The oil painting has been well presented in a gilt-effect frame with a large linen border. Signed to the lower left and dated '63. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
There is a small hole in the canvas falling over the artist's signature and minor abrasion to the surface of the oil. The frame is in fair condition. Notable staining to the linen border and small scuffs visible to all rails.
