Description
A charming watercolour by the well listed artist Pierre Le Boeuff (fl.1899-1920) depicting a quaint continental canal scene, featuring a prominent church tower rising above charming period buildings and a stone bridge. Signed to the lower left. Presented behind glass in a gilt frame and slip, with delicate shell ornaments. On paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a watercolour of this age including some discolouration and light foxing. Wear to the frame, including stable cracking, light scuffing and small losses to the edges. The gilding has started to peel to the upper-left corner of the slip. There is light surface dirt behind the glass.
