A charming still life study depicting a side table with a vase, a placed satchel, a bottle of whine and an art book on Rosetti. The artist captures this delightful selection of objects using dry brushwork, creating texture within the scene. Signed and dated to the lower right. Presented in a gilt frame with a cotton slip. Artist Biography
Peter Kirley was born Lanarkshire in 1948. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art 1965-1969, obtaining a diploma in printmaking. He worked as an art teacher at Crieff high school for nearly thirty years and continued to paint and make prints during this time. He exhibited widely across Tayside and Fife. His works are in the public collections of Perth art gallery and Kirkcaldy art gallery.
