Paul Falconer Poole - 1850 Oil Stepping Stones

Description

A mother and her young daughter balance across stepping stones in this charming scene by British artist Paul Falconer Poole RA (1807–1879). The work is signed and dated to the lower right, and is well presented in a gilt frame with a lamb's tongue running pattern. On canvas laid to board.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age, including some discolouration. Some marks to the paint surface in the upper right. The canvas has been laid to board, and inspection under UV light reveals areas of overpainting. Light wear to the frame.
