Paul Dufau (1897-1989) - Large Signed Original Contemporary Mixed Media. This impressive self portrait is painted in oil over passages of built up plaster, creating a relief affect. This painting was exhibited at the Grosvenor Gallery, London - there is an old gallery label to the reverse. Signed to the lower right. Signed. On board. There is significant active flaking to the surface, mainly in the plater used in the dark background area, as you can see in the images. This condition is likely to worsen in storage and transportation, and will need to be restored.
