Artist Biography
Elsbeth Ruth Juda, known professionally as Jay, was a British photographer and artist, most notable for her pioneering fashion photographs and work as associate editor and photographer for The Ambassador magazine.
As associate editor and photographer from 1940-1965, Juda travelled the world. Her private work included paintings, murals and amusing collages, a large show of which was held at England & Co in 1994, which toured to her native Germany.
Elsbeth Juda’s archive is held by the V&A and the FAS gave her a retrospective exhibition in 2003.
