A charming late 19th Century watercolour with gouache highlights, depicting the Cathedral in the bustling French town of Rouen. On wove laid to backing and signed in the lower left hand corner with an inscription on reverse, as shown.
Paul Braddon was a painter, born James Leslie Crees in Birmingham. He resided for many years in Hull and his work is much influenced by Paul Marny. Braddon is known to have executed many watercolour copies of old prints.
Signed and incsribed on the reverse.The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, particularly around the edges. There are minor surface water marks on the picture. Generally in fine condition.
