Artist Biography

Born at Parkeston near Harwich, Fisher studied at Colchester School of Art, 1948-53 and after returning home from an Art Scholarship in Spain in the 1950's he devoted himself to painting.

He worked as a graphic artist in Essex, designing labels for food products and contributed a series of pen and ink sketches to the Harwich and Dovercourt Standard. He rarely exhibited, except at the annual Colchester Art Society exhibitions and only sold to people he knew. Retrospective exhibitions of Fisher's work were held at the Minories, Colchester in 1977 and another in 1998 at the Swan Gallery, Harwich. Examples of his work can now be found in private collections in New York, France and Spain.
