An original oil painting by the New Zealand-born artist Pat MacLaurin (1933–2022). A young nurse in a striped blouse and white apron sits with an infant cradled in her lap. The handling is loose and painterly, with broken strokes of green, cream and warm ochre building the figures and the softly worked background. A quiet, domestic subject given real warmth through confident brushwork. Signed with monogram lower right. The painting is well presented in a gilt-effect frame with cream slip. Complete with original exhibition label verso. On canvas baord.
Condition
The frame has minor surface wear. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
