Parker Hagarty (1859-1934) was a landscape painter. Born Edwin Parker S. in Canada, he moved to England as a child. He was educated in Liverpool and later studied at the Liverpool School of Art, as well as at the Académie Julian in Paris. He settled in Cardiff in 1887 and was the founder member of the South Wales Art Society. He was elected a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy in 1900. He exhibited at the principal London galleries from 1884. Hagarty also showed at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, and Royal Institute of Oil Painters, among others. Examples of his work are in the collections of Cardiff Council, Cardiff University, Newport Art Gallery, North Ayrshire Council, and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum.
