A fine engraved version of Landseer's original satirical painting, showing a plump Jack Russel sitting on top of a cart with weighing scales and weights, seemingly withholding food from the thin and wretched dogs on the ground. The engraver and artist names are inscribed in plate at the lower edge. The title and publisher's details and dated are also inscribed at the lower edge. There is a "Gladwells, London" blind stamp to the lower left. The engraving has been handsomely presented in a maple veneer frame with gilt slip. On wove.
