Otto Tilche (1821-1894) - Late 19th Century Watercolour, Egyptian Desert Ruins

Item Sold

A fine and delicately detailed late 19th Century watercolour landscape, depicting the Egyptian desert with camel riders, and Ancient Egyptian ruins. These include distant columns and a towering temple entrance. With a light palette, the scene is rendered with an atmospheric sense of adventure and travel. Well-presented in a dark wood frame, as shown. Signed. On watercolour paper.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing to the surface and the backing paper. Also some light surface dirt. The frame has only minor scuffing to the corners.

Framed Size: 36.6 x 61.1cm (14.4" x 24.1")
