An ornate gilt case picture frame, complete with original water gilded mount and decorative floral and acanthus mouldings. Elegantly lined with velvet.
Measurements for the frame:
Inner window: 19.5cm x 15cm, outer frame size: 36.5cm x 31.5cm, Rebate: 25.5cm x 20.5cm.
The frame has undergone previous restoration work with many of the delicate mouldings glued in place. Stable cracking can be seen to the gilding as well as smaller losses to the running pattern. The case of the frame has a small split to the lower right corner and the velvet lining has worn due to light exposure.
