An original mid 19th century hand coloured lithograph printed with a French board game, appearing to be based on the popular 'Game of the Goose'. This version is entitled 'Jeu des Mysteres de Paris' and is based on the novel 'The Mysteries of Paris' by the French writer Eugene Sue and published in 1843. This lithograph was published by Dembour and Gangel, Metz, France. On paper.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There are multiple small tears around the edges of the paper, with some foxing and discolouration, and a few areas of previous repair to the reverse. The paper is folded twice, with vertical and horizontal fold lines meeting in the centre.
