Artist Biography
Ödön Kaposy was a Hungarian born painter. In 1938, he visited the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest, where he was tutored by Gyula Rudnay and Bertalan Karlovszky. In 1939-40, he continued his education at the Accademia di belle Arti in Venice. After the Second World War, he lived in Venice before returning to Budapest. He was an avid traveller and made study trips to Italy, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Syria, Egypt, Morocco and Libya. He lived and worked in London between 1956-80.
He appeared in individual (London, Edinburgh, Leiden, Brussels, Montreal, etc.) and collective (Atelier, London) exhibitions. He exhibited geometric compositions in Brussels. His works were housed in the Old Brompton Road Library in London.
