A delightful oil painting by the artist Norman James Battershill, depicting a landscape scene in Arundel with an arch bridge over a river. Signed to the lower right-hand corner. There is a label on the reverse inscribed with the artist's name and title. Well-presented in a wooden frame with a gilt effect outer detail. On board.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor surface marks, otherwise in good condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Some marks and scuffs to the frame.

Artist Biography
Norman James Battershill (1922) was a painter, teacher and author, born in Hackney, London, and the son of an artist Leslie Battershill. He attended Twickenham College of Art and has shown at the Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Oil Painters and Pastel Society of all of which have elected him a member. He has also exhibited at Royal Academy of Arts and New English Art Club and was made a Fellow of Society of Industrial Artists and Designers and the Chartered Society of Designers in 1968.
