Dutch artist Nicolaes Matthijsz Aartman (1713-1760) is best known for his detailed drawings and watercolours depicting landscapes and scenes of everyday life. Landscape views of Windsor by Aartman were bought by King George III. Examples of his work are in the collections of the Rijksmuseum, Royal Collection at Windsor Castle, and Staatliche Graphische Sammlung, amongst others.
