Artist Biography
Muriel Hare was a London-based painter who lived in Chelsea before settling in Holland Park and Notting Hill. She was also a wood engraver, though the details of her art education remain uncertain. Her evocative landscapes and still lifes reflect the influence of the Camden Town Group, under whom she may have studied. She exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Society of Women Artists, and in Ireland at the Royal Hibernian Academy.
