This charming 18th-century miniature depicts a pious St Peter, looking up to the heavens in devotion. Peter is depicted in red and blue, symbolizing his dual roles as a passionate apostle and a heavenly mediator. Illegibly signed verso. Beautifully presented in a gilt frame. On panel.

Condition

Some discolouration to the varnish. Light abrasions throughout. Inspection under UV light reveals small areas of restoration. Overall the artwork is in very good condition for its age. Light wear to the frame, including small scuffs, chips and indentations.
