A beautiful mid 20th Century landscape showing an idyllic stretch of the Rhine under blue skies. There is a castle nestled in the hilltop forest in the distance and trees line the foreground of the picture. Figures walk near a cottage at the right bank. "H. West" has been signed in a contemporary hand to the lower right. The painting has been presented in a 20th Century gilt effect frame with low relief floral molding and a linen slip. On canvs.
