A truly wonderful, expressive, slightly abstract study of an industrial harbour at nighttime. Lights twinkle in the sea reflections whilst large cranes are visible in the distance. Two figures walk along the dock, perhaps heading home from a late shift. The cool blues of the scene contrast beautifully with touches of pale pink impasto. Well presented in a gilt frame. Signed indistinctly, possibly reads "Till H...". On board.
Condition
Overall the condition is good and typical for a picture of this age. The frame has some minor marks and scuffs. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.
