Description
A humorous mid 19th Century naive interior scene, showing a young boy, begrudgingly helping his grandmother spinning thread. He holds the loop of yarn in front of himself with a frown and slumped posture as his two young friends giggle at him at the open door. The scene has a charming narrative, combined with the wonderful naive style, making it a beautifully decorative object with much history. The painting is unsigned and presented in a 19th Century gilt frame with beaded strap work. On canvas.Condition
The painting has some age tone to the varnish, typical for its age. The frame has some tarnishing some losses to the lower edge of the inner window.
