Michael D'Aguilar, was a painter of landscapes, portraits and figures in oils and pastels. He spent his early life in Spain and later attended the RA Schools from 1948 to 1953, where he studied under Henry Rushbury and Bernard Fleetwood-Walker. While there, D'Aguilar won the Armitage Prize and the Leverhulme Scholarship. He held his first solo exhibition at the Temple Gallery in 1961, and has subsequently shown in London galleries, including the New Grafton Gallery, in the provinces and abroad. He has shown at the RA since 1953 and with the Young Contemporaries, at the RBA and NEAC, and his work is represented in collections including Bradford Art Gallery. More recently, he has exhibited at the Bruton Gallery, Leeds, 2000.
