A delightful miniature landscape by Belgian artist Merchie Donat (1833-1886). A label affixed to the reverse, secured with wax stamps bearing the artist's name, reads "Je soussigné déclare que le tableau ci contre est peint par moi" ("I, the undersigned, declare that the painting opposite is painted by me") and is signed below.
