Mary Sumner was born in rural Northamptonshire. She studied at Northampton School of Art and West Surrey School of Art and then later at Bristol University.
Many of her artworks were inspired the natural surrounding of her home in Devon. Her works show a focus on landscapes, birds and farm animals.
