A charming oil study depicting pink and white dahlias with blossoms placed in a vase. Signed to the lower right. Presented in a varnished wooden frame. On canvas.

Condition

There are some light marks to the surface in the upper right to the canvas. Some light wear to the frame.

Artist Biography

Marion Broom RWS (1878-1962) studied at the Royal College of Music and sang in opera for a time. A painter in oil and watercolour, Broom was a prolific exhibitor. showing at the Abbey Gallery, Arlington Gallery, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Cooling Galleries, Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Walker Art Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts, Royal Cambrian Academy, Royal Hibernian Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours Royal Institute of Oil Painters and Society of Women Artists. She lived at High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and her work is in the collection of Leamington Spa Art Gallery.
