Margaret Waller studied at Liverpool College of Art and the Royal Academy Schools.
She exhibited at the RA and at the Paris Salon. She went to live on the Channel Islands and much of her work was inspired by the landscapes of Guernsey and Sark.
Unusually, her favoured medium was tempera also known as egg tempera, which is a permanent, fast-drying painting medium consisting of coloured pigments mixed with a water-soluble binder medium, usually glutinous material such as egg yolk.
