Margaret Rowney (1908-1998) - Original Mid 20th Century Etching. Signed in pencil lower right. Signed. Some discolouration to page outside plate line, but generally in fine condition.

Margaret Rowney (1908-1998) was a painter, printmaker and teacher born in Hampstead. She studied at the St John's Wood School of Art in the 1920s and at the Slade School under Henry Tonks from 1927 to 1931. Rowney travelled extensively and had many solo shows around the world. In 1998, her work featured in an exhibition at Burgh House about the Rowney Family, which was organised with the help of her son John Hauxwell, also an artist.
