Artist Biography
Biography attached to the reverse: Margaret Levinson (b.1926) was born and educated in Bournemouth, Hampshire, where she studied at the College of Art. She was taught by the sculptor Hermon Cawthra and etcher Leslie Ward. She went on to specialise in coloured etching and aquatints and developed unique ink and watercolour techniques. Hampshire Museums commissioned her to create fifty etchings of water-mills in the area. She was a member of the Printmakers Council. Mixed exhibitions included Ben Uri Gallery from 197; and Printmakers Council, Leighton House, 1982. Solo shows included Poole Central Library, Dean Galleries, San Jose, California, both 1986. Ben Uri Art Society and many other collections world wide hold her work.
