A fine pastel painting by the artist Margaret Glass, depicting a coastal scene with boats and cottages in the distance. The artist's depiction of light and perspective greatly illustrate her proficiency and impressive technique in the medium. Monogrammed and dated to the lower right-hand corner. Artist's label to the reverse with a title and a further date, along with two other informative paper cut-outs. Well-presented in a double card mount and gilt effect wooden frame. Painting in fine condition. White pastel smudges to the mount. Some trapped dirt beneath the glazing. Some wear to the frame, including scuffing to the corners.

Artist Biography
Margaret Glass was born in 1950 and is recognised for being a leading pastel artist. She was a Vice-President for the Société des Pastellistes de Françe, and a member of the English Pastel Society.
In 1992 she was given the title 'Maitre Pastellist' by the Société des Pastellistes de Françe, the eleventh artist to have this distinction. In 1993, Glass published the book 'Pastel Masterclass'. In recent years the artist has also worked in oil, using the same light technique as in her pastels.
