Marcel Jacque (1906-1981) - Late 19th Century Etching The Dwindling Candle
Description
A dwindling candle dimly illuminates a mother sowing next to her sleeping child.
This etching has been completed by Marcel Jacque, an artist associated with the Barbizon School of romantic and realist painters.
The artwork shows strong plate lines and is signed and inscribed. A white mount board frames both he etching and inscription - which is in French - separately. The piece is completed with a thin molded frame with a gilded inner window and glazing.
On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration.
