A very finely painted late 19th century watercolour, depicting a milkmaid leading her calf through a farmyard. Around her are chickens, ducks and geese. This is a very charming pastoral scene by a very accomplished draughtsman, painted in the style of the highly collectable watercolourist Myles Birket Foster. Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Overall the appearance is very good.. A tiny area of craquelure to the gum arabic used on a small chicken.
