In a silver and brown frame, the picture in the frame window measures (36.5 x 52 cm). There is a Royal Academy Summer Exhibition label fixed to the reverse which has been mostly removed and sale codes from Christie's Auctioneers. Signed and dated. On board. In fine condition.Malcolm John Hitchcock (British 1929-1998) was an acclaimed British painter and member of the Royal West of England Academy. He typically painted oils in the naive style with an interest in every day scenes and landscapes (particularly those involving trains and railway).
