A pair of detailed gouache and watercolour studies of the military dress of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. On the left is the Sergeant, Drill Order of 1953 and on the right the Full Dress of 1936. Presented glazed in a grey mount and a distressed gold painted wooden frame. There is a silver plate at the lower edge which is engraved with the name of the regiment. Monogrammed 'O. Mc' and dated to the lower-right corners of both paintings. There are labels on the verso which provide details of the regiment, rank, and location associated with the uniforms. On wove.
Condition
There is some mild discolouration to the substrates and around the edges of the mount. There are some small scuffs and scratches to the frame. Overall in good condition.

A collection of highly detailed and well-observed paintings of the uniforms of British Army regiments presented in pairs, the majority of which are Scottish. All are monogrammed 'O. Mc' and dated between 1934 and 1953 to the lower-right corners. Many depict the ceremonial and battle dress worn by soldiers during the Second World War.
