A pair of detailed gouache and watercolour studies of the military dress of the Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment). On the left is the Full Dress of 1934 and on the right the Private, Fighting Order of Burma 1943. Presented glazed in a grey mount and a distressed silver painted wooden frame. There is a silver plate at the lower edge which is engraved with the name of the regiment. Monogrammed 'O. Mc' and dated to the lower-right corners of both paintings. There are labels on the verso which provide details of the regiment, rank, and location associated with the uniforms. On watercolour paper.
Condition
There is some slight discolouration around the edges of the mount. There are some faint fingerprint marks to the mount. There are some small scuffs and scratches to the frame. Overall in very good condition.

A collection of highly detailed and well-observed paintings of the uniforms of British Army regiments presented in pairs, the majority of which are Scottish. All are monogrammed 'O. Mc' and dated between 1934 and 1953 to the lower-right corners. Many depict the ceremonial and battle dress worn by soldiers during the Second World War.
