A woman sells her wares from a street corner in this early twentieth-century watercolour by Lewis Nathaniel Nottage (1867–1936). Her bright turquoise dress and basket overflowing with vibrant ribbons provide a striking contrast to the muted tones of the otherwise empty street. Perhaps the lack of passing trade is the cause of her weary expression. The work is signed and dated to the lower right and is presented in a gilt frame. On paper.

Some slight discolouration to the paper and light wear to the frame; however, the artwork is in very good condition overall.
