Painter and teacher, born in Cardiff, where he attended the College of Art, 1932–6. Moore then began teaching in Cardiff, to which he returned after World War II Army service abroad. From 1950 he was an art adviser in the Glamorgan area for many years. He was a leading figure in the Barry Summer School, SWAS and SWG and was at one time on the WAC art committee. Showed widely in Welsh group shows, notably Royal National Eisteddfod and WAC. He also had solo exhibitions at Howard Roberts Gallery in Cardiff, Dillwyn Gallery in Swansea and in his own home at Barry, Glamorgan. National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, and many education authorities hold his work, which could have strong Neo-Romantic tendencies. His daughter was the painter Sally Moore.
