A charming watercolour landscape by the listed British artist Lennard Lewis RA (1826-1913), depicting figures enjoying a day by the river, rowing, fishing and walking. Well-presented in a wash-line mount and gilt-effect frame. Signed by the artist to the lower right and dated, 1999. On paper.

Condition

Minor discolouration to the watercolour and mount. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.

Artist Biography

London-born Lennard Lewis was a watercolourist and painter in oils who made a specialty of English, French and Portuguese architectural views. the exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Grosvenor Gallery and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours. the also showed with the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and submitted work to exhibitions in Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield and Leeds.
