An accomplished watercolour study depicting a smartly dressed gentleman in his library. The poised man sits proudly in a chair with a finger pressed between the pages of his book. As he looks to the window, hisis lower half is basked in gentle sunlight, subtly captured in light reflections on the carpet. The attention to detail is apparent in every point of the composition, from the fine interior features to the intricate look of the sitter.
The piece is unsigned. Beautifully presented in a swept gilt frame with fine floral ornamentation.
