Description

A sweet watercolour depicting two young children being tended to by their nanny/governess. An inscription on the reverse reads 'I love children said the moon. It gives me pleasure to see them dress and undress'. Which is taken from a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale 'What the Moon Saw' written in 1840. Unsigned.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing. Overall in good condition.
