A beautiful, sunny coastal scene in oil, showing a panoramic view of an English bay with sailing boats out on the blue waters under a sky filled with fluffy white clouds.
The artist has signed indistinctly to the left of the lower edge and the painting has been handsomely presented in an exquisite early 20th Century gilt frame with high relief scrolling acanthus leaf molding. The gilt finish is incredibly well preserved and has a beautiful glow. The frame is finished with an internal gilt slip. There is a canvas stamp at the reverse, dating this painting circa 1890.
On canvas.The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The frame has minor losses to the molding at all four corners and some minor tarnishing to the gilt but is in overall very good condition.
